Proven leadership for our students, our teachers, and our community. Together, we build a stronger Charleston.
Keith Grybowski serves as a Trustee on the Charleston County School Board because he believes every child deserves a strong education, every teacher deserves support, and every family deserves confidence that their schools are being led with care, responsibility, and common sense.
After 15 years as Director of Education at Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum — where over 100,000 students participated in structured educational programs — Keith retired to devote his full time and energy to public service. He holds a B.S. in Marine Transportation from SUNY Maritime College and a J.D. from Quinnipiac University.
His priorities on the board include responsible budgeting, increasing teacher pay, thoughtful use of AI in schools, and expanding student opportunities through the district's new foundation. He also serves as Treasurer/Secretary of the Historical Naval Ships Association and is a published children's author.

A clear, community-focused agenda for the next term — built on listening to parents, teachers, and students.
Raising the bar for student achievement through rigorous curriculum standards, evidence-based instruction, and meaningful accountability measures that prepare every child for success.
Every student deserves to learn in a safe, secure, and welcoming environment. Keith will continue investing in school safety infrastructure, mental health resources, and anti-bullying programs.
Our teachers are the backbone of our schools. Keith is committed to competitive compensation, professional development opportunities, and reducing administrative burdens so educators can focus on teaching.
Taxpayer dollars must be spent wisely. Keith will ensure every dollar in the school budget is directed toward the classroom — not bureaucracy — with full transparency and accountability.
Parents are essential partners in education. Keith believes in keeping families informed, involved, and empowered to participate in their children's schooling and in district decisions.
Academic success goes hand in hand with social, emotional, and physical well-being. Keith supports arts, athletics, and extracurricular programs that develop the whole student.
A core responsibility of the school board is hiring and supporting a superintendent who can lead the entire system with vision and integrity. Keith proudly supported the hiring of Superintendent Anita Huggins and is committed to empowering her to continue the outstanding work already underway across Charleston County schools.
